Doree: The Brand That Is Playing An Important Role In Making Indian Ethnic Wear Popular Worldwide

Nikita was already a successful designer when she decided to launch her own fashion brand. Though Nikita had established herself successfully in the Indian fashion industry, she wanted to create a brand that would reflect her sensibilities and sense of aesthetics. This urge to do something of her own led to the birth of Doree in the year 2018.

Promoted as a ‘women’s designer store and fashion store’, Doree has come a long way in just a few years and managed to make its presence felt in a highly competitive industry. Apart from being its owner and founder, Nikita serves as the Director of Merchandising, Creative Content & Operations. With her hard work and the efforts of her dedicated team, she has managed to build a brand from scratch.

Talking about the idea behind Doree, Nikita says, “I wanted to create a brand that would make Indian ethnic wear accessible not just for Indian women but women based in different parts of the world who are fascinated by it. With my experience in the design sector and a keen interest in entrepreneurship, I decided to launch Doree. The demand for Indian ethnic wear is growing at a rapid pace and that has given a lot of confidence to designers and entrepreneurs like me who wish to popularize it further.”

As a brand, Doree offers its customers a wide range of ethnic wear, including saree, suits, dresses, lehengas, Indian gowns, imported gowns, and dresses. It has been recognized as a startup company by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises or MSME (Government of India). Nikita and her team have taken several measures to ensure the brand has a good presence in both India and foreign shores. It has been listed on the popular Canada-based multinational e-commerce platform Shopify.

“With Doree, my goal has been to build an Indian ethnic wear brand that resonates with customers all across the world. Our primary objective has been to offer our customers high-quality products. Our list of product categories and product offerings is expanding with each passing day. We worked very hard on building a website that is not just accessible but also convenient to navigate through. We have designed it keeping the preferences of our customers in mind. The website enables our customers to securely manage their accounts without intervention”, says the young entrepreneur.

Apart from having a well-established online store, Doree also has a physical retail store. Doree has multiple warehouses based in India and the United States.
